We are participating in ground-breaking research trials to improve the well-being and quality of life for patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The EMU is a central component of the only NAEC Level 4 Epilepsy Center in the state, providing 24-hour video EEG surveillance to both adult and pediatric patients. The 10 East nursing staff is part of the interdisciplinary Stroke Team, and plays a key role in the WVUM Comprehensive Stroke Center program. 10 East provides exceptional learning opportunities with a wide variety of acutely ill patients; a comprehensive orientation program and a supportive work environment for newly-hired nurses. The physicians and nurses work collaboratively along with other disciplines and mid-level providers to meet the complex needs of our patient population and ensure quality outcomes. Our weekend nurses are a high-performing group with exceptional teamwork and comradery.
