Position Summary:
Responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care at West Virginia University Hospitals through involvement in direct patient care, operational, education and administrative activities, and assumes a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
- Must possess current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia or be license eligible. Licensure must be completed within 90 days of hire. If licensure is not obtained within 90 days of start date, associate will be notified that they will be released from their employment.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire date.

Antimicrobial Stewardship & /COpAT/OPAT Pharmacy Specialist–
The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at WVU Medicine- J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is recruiting for a full-time clinical pharmacy specialist to enhance the Antimicrobial Stewardship, Complex Outpatient Oral Antimicrobial Therapies (COpAT) and Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) Programs. Responsibilities for this role include:
a. Overseeing daily prospective audit of antimicrobials
b. Assisting in development and maintenance of an antimicrobial formulary approved by the medical staff.
c. Working with the infectious disease service to evaluate appropriate use of restricted antimicrobials
d. Developing guidelines, policies, and other monitoring and intervention strategies for antimicrobial use and
streamlining prophylactic, empiric, and definitive antimicrobial therapy
e. Reporting data and findings to the Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Control and Pharmacy &
Therapeutics Committees.
f. Coordinating, facilitating and promoting education, training, competency assessment and performance
improvement of pharmacists, pharmacy residents and other healthcare professionals in the appropriate use
of antimicrobials
g. Assist in the monitoring of COpAT/OPAT patients before, during, and after their admission to promote positive clinical outcomes.
h. Serves as a preceptor to pharmacy residents and students
This position will be scheduled to work primarily Monday thru Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and be based at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, with rotating weekend on-call support (every 5-6 weeks, on average).

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy is required.
BPS board certification in infectious diseases (BCIDP) is preferred. PGY-2 residency in infectious disease or equivalent experience preferred.
