Description POSITION SUMMARY
The Radiologic Technologist performs all examinations and performs all tasks relevant to the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform radiologic exams under supervision of Radiologist.

Operate Radiographic equipment safely and deliver lowest dose of radiation as possible.

Adjust exposure techniques in accordance with Ohio Department of Health Guidelines.

Modify orders and/or place electronic orders.

Transport patients

Work closely and respectfully with the reading radiologist.

Facilitate interpretation of exams and relay report if needed.

Assess image quality including positioning, techniques, and grayscale.

Submit images to PACS.

Manage daily schedule of patients.

Charge for appropriate procedure and supplies.

Follow the departmental workflow processes and adhere to quality assurance program.

Contrast administration.

Follow ODH, JC and other accreditation bodies guidelines as instructed by management.

Maintain licensure and required continuing education.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Clinical supervision of student technologists.

Assist medical staff to view images or retrieve reports.

Provide instructions to patients.

Stock work area with supplies.
Answer phone calls.

Schedule patients.

Notify management of equipment malfunction.

Assist team members as needed.

Other duties that may be asked of the employee that is in the scope of the employee’s knowledge, skills, and education.

Every employee is expected to follow all Barnesville Hospital policies and procedures, safety precautions and standards, guest relation standards, and to support and participate in the hospital compliance program and in programs within his/her department to maintain and monitor quality improvement.

SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure
High School graduate
Graduate of approved school for Radiology Technologist
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography.
Licensed in the State of Ohio

Skills
Ability to follow written and verbal orders
Knowledge of radiology and medical terminology

Ability to apply the process needed in performing radiographic procedures

Ability to perform all necessary radiology procedures

Knowledge of how to safely operate radiology equipment, including but not limited to: Cat Scan, c-arm, portable unit, fluoroscopy, general radiology, tomography, film processor, digitizer, CD burner, and the mammography unit “if qualified to do so.”
