Description

POSITION SUMMARY:    Performs and analyzes a limited number of clinical laboratory tests of a basic nature in one laboratory division (i.e. Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, or Molecular) by standard operating policies and procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, reviews and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

-If hired after 6/30/2019, Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).  If hired before 6/30/2019, Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT); OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND Graduated from an approved medical or clinical laboratory training program or Completed an official US Military 50-week medical Laboratory training and have held the enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist; OR Was licensed as a CLP-MLT before the new WV Clinical Laboratory rule’s effective date of June 1, 2017 and have met all applicable requirements..

-Licensed as a Laboratory Technician in the state of West Virginia within 90 days of employment.
