Physician – Emergency Department (United Hospital Center)
The Department of Emergency Medicine at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV is currently seeking academic Emergency Medicine (EM) physicians at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The WVU Department of Emergency Medicine offers a variety of practice locales and types across its diverse group of clinical sites.
Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or its foreign equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The Department of Emergency Medicine at WVU maintains a thriving clinical practice—including West Virginia University Hospitals/Ruby Memorial Hospital (55,000 visits/year, Level 1 Trauma Center), United Hospital Center (58,000 visits/year), St. Joseph's Hospital (24,000 visits/year), two WVU Urgent Care centers, WVU Student Health, WVU International Travel Clinic, and an internal locum tenens practice. Across this myriad of EM practices, our faculty, fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers care for more than 181,000 patients per year. Our Department is home to a competitive residency program of nearly 30 residents—attracting top-notch housestaff from medical schools across the country. We also offer a state-of-the-art emergency ultrasound fellowship program—again attracting some of the brightest and most skilled young emergency physicians from around the country.
