||Toray is looking to employ top notch Production Technicians at our Rhode Island facility. Here, you will contribute to producing some of the world’s finest polypropylene and polyester thin films. Toray Plastics (America), Inc. operates 365 days a year,
24 hours a day. We operate on all holidays and weekends. All new hires start out as Packaging Technicians.
Packaging Technicians will complete a one week orientation and will begin employment in the Lumirror Division Packaging Department. In the Lumirror Division, shifts alternate between two weeks of the day shift (8:00am – 8:15pm) and two weeks of the night shift
(8:00pm – 8:15am). You will be promoted to Production Technician in approximately 6-18 months. When promoted to the production areas, technicians will continue to work the two week rotating schedule with the potential to work a long term night shift position
Machine setup based on daily work orders
Sets machine conditions
Operates machine controls, monitors instrumentation and material during operation
Keeps process conditions within control
Prepares assigned paperwork and enters data into computer systems as necessary
Performs quality inspections
Participates in correcting and improving product quality & machine operation
Ensures cleanliness of assigned work area and assigned machine
-High School Diploma or GED
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
-Push/Pull up to 1,500 lbs. using a wheeled cart
-Able to work 12 hour and 15 minute work shift
-Ability to work required, mandatory overtime
-Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
-Ability to work in a tobacco and smoke-free workplace
