Title A/R Billing Specialist I/II

Description FUNCTION: Generate and maintain necessary records for the purpose of ensuring optimal billing for services rendered, as required, utilizing a computerized and/or manual system(s). Prepares claims for submission to all insurance companies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated experience in medical billing and knowledge of medical terminology. Certified medical coder preferred. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and recordkeeping skills; excellent time management skills, including willingness and ability to manage and complete multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner; strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well and communicate effectively with others both within and outside of the department and organization; Knowledge of and/or ability to use computer software necessary to carry out assigned duties, including but not limited to Excel, Word and applicable financial and billing software. Physical condition or reasonable accommodation(s) commensurate with the demands of the job.

Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field; OR Associate’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field and two (2) years of demonstrated office experience; OR four (4) years of demonstrated office experience in related capacity. Certified medical coder strongly preferred.
