Description Under supervision of Director of Information Systems, manages all Agency file and application servers, local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) performance, and maintains LAN/WAN security. Responsible for the management and maintenance of 20 file and application servers which support over 700 computer users, and which run the critical business applications (Payroll, Human Resources, Financial, Clinical, Manufacturing, email, Internet access) that support the day-to-day operation of the Agency. Installs, maintains, and monitors the operation of Agency servers. Assists the Director of Information Systems in evaluation of vendor products in hardware and software and recommends purchases consistent with short and long term objectives. Recommends and implements LAN/WAN policies and standards, ensuring adherence to security procedures. Maintains contact with outside vendor organizations in the maintenance and service of LAN/WAN and assigned servers. Works with PC/LAN coordinators in ensuring users are trained in server and LAN/WAN operations and procedures. Serves as project leader for all new systems installations and serves as the lead contact for all Agency information systems issues, in the absence of the Director of Information Systems.
Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience working with Windows Server 2003/Active Directory Services in a Cisco-based network environment; OR an Associate's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related field and four (4) years of experience working with Windows Server 2003/Active Directory Services in a Cisco-based network environment. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification strongly preferred.
