Description Position Summary
Financial Analysts ensure that RCN makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. A master juggler working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

You have a passion for metrics and quantitative analytics and an array of analytical methods and tools at your disposal. You'll work to get underneath the P&L and growth metrics (customers, RGUs, HPs), both backward and forward looking. Coordinating with the Operations team, you'll dissect business metrics end-to-end, from financial through to growth, retention, operational and acquisition metrics. You’re action-oriented, and you will help to identify tactics and define strategy on various dimensions. Automate key metrics and reports in collaboration with the construction and engineering team and keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct analyses to inform appropriate capital allocation and budgeting – Drive visibility into business performance, expense management, investment prioritization and resource planning
2. Provide decision analytics to identify opportunities and provide recommendations – Develop analytical insights and influence decisions on P&L and profitability optimization, customer acquisition, and efficient use of resources.
3. Manage the P&L (and B/S) actively – Conduct regular P&L reviews, planning, forecasting, expense management, investment prioritization. Advise on spend approvals (POs, agreements)
4. Improve visibility into business performance – Implement necessary financial infrastructure to manage day-to-day operations
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Math, or related quantitative field or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in financial/quantitative analysis
• Experience with quantitative financial modeling (e.g., scenario-based, sensitivity analyses, statistical techniques) and reporting

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in operations, construction, and large multi-million dollar projects
• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion Planning
• Bias towards action and detail-oriented. Able to self-direct work in an unstructured environment
• Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, leadership skills, and ability to communicate with a senior management team
• Good partnership and collaboration skills
