Description RCN, a growing leader in telecommunications is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Enterprise Business Team as a Director of Sales. We are a leading provider of Business voice, data and video services focused on solution selling strategies. The Director of Sales will focus on managing and driving a team of sales professionals within the New York metropolitan area and will be charged with selling the full complement of RCN Enterprise business services.

You will focus on the management of the commercial enterprise sales team, working to meet/exceed budgeted targets; ability to generate monthly/quarterly forecasts and present to key stakeholders; negotiate favorable business terms on new contracts. Candidate must understand and react accordingly to competitive climate and be able to shift gears in order to continue to attract and maintain business opportunities. Generate revenue by delivering solutions such as Metro Ethernet, Point to Point, Voice (SIP and PRI) and video as well as other broadband and integrated communication services within our channel partner, enterprise and strategic markets business segments.

The Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have exceptional organizational, administrative and presentation skills.
This person will work collaboratively with outside sales channels including the national sale team and channel partners, understanding that total revenue production for the market takes precedent. This candidate will also work closely with the Director of Commercial Operations to ensure orders are being installed timely and renewals are optimized to ensure long term revenue growth.

Qualifications & Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management and 5 + years of industry or relevant management experience. Strong computer skills, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, Excellent Customer Service, Communication, and Project Management skills required. The ideal candidate will have experience with progressive responsibility in strategic account management roles.
• Create customized solutions for commercial accounts for voice, data and video.
• Represent all company products. (Metro E, Fiber Build outs, Broadband Connect, LD Platform)
• Plan, organize, and implement sales strategies.
• Expand customer base within RCN's fiber network.
• Manage Sales Organization that includes Enterprise Business Account Executives
• Develop sales models to ensure the success of the product.
• Develop Business Account Executive dashboards to measure front end performance indicators such as cold
calls, leads entered into CRM, daily appointments, and data sales per rep/ day.
• Develop and implement daily sales activity model; morning meetings, blitz days, and daily reporting requirements for the Business Account Executive.
• Develop new hire training program for all new Business Account Executives including peer ride a longs,
customer care sit-ins.
• Implement sales and activity tracking forms to ensure proper activity levels from each Business Account
Executive.

Additional Key requirements needed to succeed in this Management Role:
Proven and measurable success in change management, strategic planning, business plan development, thought leadership, coaching, performance development, management and analysis. Comprehensive P&L and general management experience.

• Direct, train and coach Account Executives in a Commercial business start-up organization within an established cable service provider.
• Create strategic agenda for executing sales plan. Identify and analyze sales opportunities within new and existing accounts.
• Key elements include development of a marketing plan designed to create awareness, increase penetration, secure new business and protect existing business from competition.
• Introduce, build consensus and implement a sales territory management plan.
• Help increase revenue of commercial accounts through the development of an aggressive marketing strategy and sales plan.
• Implement training program and sales tracking tools for account executives
