POSITION PURPOSE

This technician will be a member of the R&D analytical team to organize stability samples, maintain stability chambers, stability sample and test records, conduct regular analytical testing in support of the PDI business for the development of new products, product upgrades and cost savings initiatives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

LAB MAINTENANCE:
a. Organize lab equipment manuals, service records and analytical test documents.
b. Prepare reagents and solutions as necessary.
c. Process glassware and dispose of waste.
d. Lab cleaning and organization, order supplies and equipment.
e. Equipment verification as necessary.

STABILITY STUDY:
a. Organize and label stability samples.
b. Maintain organization of samples and calendar of time-points to analyze.
c. Maintain stability chambers records; temperature recordings.

ANALYSIS:
a. Conduct routine analytical tests.
b. Report data in GLP manner to the lead scientist(s)
c. Train in new techniques/methods as required.


PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Demonstrate excellent organization skills – able to work with multiple tasks.
2. Set up and organize stability study samples, record sample records accurately and perform stability or regular tests timely.
3. Ensure that lab/glassware are clean and well organized, and instrument records are up to date.
4. Willing to learn more analytical skills to perform different analytical testing.
5. Able to communicate and cooperate with other team members effectively.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associates degree or Laboratory Technician Program is required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Laboratory Equipment such as pH meter, balance.
Proficient with MS Excel

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience in R&D or QA / QC lab.
Previous experience with autotitrator equipment advantageous
Previous experience of regulated products advantageous.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong communication skills (verbal / written)
Team player
Adaptable learner
Able to work in a fast pace environment with varied work
Computer literate (Outlook / Word / Excel)

WORKING CONDITIONS

ABILITY TO LIFT 40 POUNDS About 90% Lab and 10% office environment
