PDI is looking for a highly talented and driven individual with a proven track record of project management to work with an external construction firm to design and build a new manufacturing and distribution facilities. The incumbent will provide project management leadership to an internal project team and overall alignment with the external cross-functional team responsible for executing PDI’s manufacturing and distribution expansion project. In addition to representing PDI and overseeing design, construction, and commissioning, the individual will lead front-end planning and business integration, working with both internal and external partners for successful manufacturing and distribution start up.

The individual will be a key leader for managing project activities that include new technology introduction, facility and utility construction, technology transfer, capital projects for process equipment/systems and process automation that support commercial manufacturing. The successful candidate will be a leading contributor for flawless project management to support company objectives.


The role will require cross-functional leadership, influencing and negotiation skills, and project management proficiency in addition to the ability to directly lead associates in project execution. More specifically, your responsibilities may include:
I. Lead a cross-functional team, including internal R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Human Resources, Legal, Supply Chain, and Engineering resources in managing and executing capacity expansion projects
II. Demonstrate strong and clear accountability for operational and program success
III. Demonstrate leadership, learning agility, and action orientation when facing uncertainty. Instill confidence through leadership and actions
IV. Motivate the team to achieve individual and project objectives
V. Foster the development of team members to excel in their performance, both functionally and cross-functionally
VI. Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts contributing to construction of a state of the art facility to drive increased efficiencies and capacity
VII. Ensure compliance with PDI quality policies, procedures, and practices
VIII. Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and PDI safety and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures
IX. Project manage the activities of designers, consultants and contractors, and manage meetings and conference calls to achieve efficient use of resources, meet deadlines for deliverables, minimize delays, avoid crises and resolve conflicts
X. Write, edit and/or review technical scope of work documents, specifications, procedures, equipment layouts, P&IDs, progress reports, feasibility studies, proposals, presentations, etc.
XI. Review and negotiate technical and financial aspects of bid documents
XII. Lead project analysis, design, implementation and commissioning phases
XIII. Responsible to procure new technologies to support new product/process introduction and cost savings initiatives
XIV. Review & manage capital project budgets & schedules, oversee consultants & contractors
XV. Lead the ongoing efforts for improved system cost and performance by evaluations of technologies, systems and components, and be a resource regarding emerging technologies and techniques in the wet wipe industry
XVI. Inform company leadership on any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
XVII. Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards

1. Robust Front End Planning and Strategy Alignment for highly efficient manufacturing and distribution. Development of a comprehensive project plan/schedule for the full life cycle of the program.
2. Flawless Program Management and Business Integration working in collaboration with internal and external partners
3. Successful and timely completion of the manufacturing and distribution expansion project meeting budget targets

Must Have: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Preferred: Master’s Degree with a technical or business focus; Professional Engineering License; Project Management Certification

-Proficient in Solid works, 3D AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning software
-Familiar with design controls, Good Engineering Practices; FDA and ISO regulations (cosmetics, drug, and medical device), and GMP practices
-Proven ability to coordinate work flow with project teams and to manage the work of external consultants and contractors

7 to 10 years of experience as a project/program manager in the construction, engineering, and/or manufacturing field
-Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. FDA, EPA) managing complex engineering projects and leading large capital projects involving construction of facilities and installation of equipment and utilities
-Experience with high speed packaging, process automation, and facility designs

-Experience in construction management projects and be knowledgeable of regulations and permits required.

-Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate (verbal & written)
-Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
-Good understanding of business/finance concepts (e.g., payback, rate of return, cash flow, income statement)
-Use of extensive project leadership experience to drive the planning and management of risks, priorities and contingencies.
-Detail-oriented and self-motivated high achiever with ability to multi-task, perform duties in a collaborative working environment.
