POSITION PURPOSE
The National Accounts Director position would be responsible for conducting national account level sales activities in the Acute care/ Extended Care/Alternate Site Market with emphasis on areas including acute care, primary care, long term care, dialysis, oncology.
This position interfaces with major distributors to maximize sales of PDI's products to these customers. This position stays abreast of competitive activity and reports this to appropriate Sales and Marketing Corporate staff. Working with sales leadership to enhance PDI’s ability to successfully grow and expand programs within the assigned distributors and key accounts. In addition, this position will work with the PDI health systems team an assigned distributors to grow within the non-acute IDN’s


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Position Responsibilities:
1. Within the limits of corporate sales policy, advises and assists the VP National Accounts in formulating proposals and recommending procedures and practices pertaining to sales, pricing, marketing and advertising activities. Administers sales policy within assigned parameters.
2. Maintains regular contact with regional and national distribution partners, as well as key account responsibilities. Keeps informed of new competitive activity and new sales opportunities. Work with the PDI field team to implement the distribution programs
3. Prepares sales forecasts and budgets for review by the Vice President of National Accounts.
4. Reviews progress to forecast and budget and recommends adjustments or action where appropriate.
5. Provides the Vice President of National Accounts with information regarding new sales contract opportunities; reviews and assists in revising and renewing expiring contracts.
6. Keeps abreast of trade information and makes recommendations for possible new products or sales opportunities.
7. Reviews monthly reports for accuracy and progress to sales forecast.
8. Reviews backorder reports to stay abreast of customer service levels.
9. Assists in distributor sales meetings, as well as scheduling and planning trade shows. Assists in planning and developing national sales meetings and training seminars.
10. Maintains communication with the Vice President of National Accounts to provide current pricing and contract opportunities. Obtains competitive pricing information.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Growth of PDI products compared to the competitors within each distributor
2. Programs implemented with distribution sales teams
3. Program fees
4. Build out NA team to call on specialty markets through distribution: Lab, oncology, and dialysis
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
4 yr. college Degree

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Must have extensive, in depth knowledge of the Primary/Extended Care/Alternate Site market, including chain/facility segments and distributors. Must have solid understanding of the sales cycle and sales techniques. Centrally located

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable sales results in the Healthcare distribution market, working for leading manufacturing and/or distribution companies. Must have current relationships with understanding of the Acute care, Primary care and EC markets.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills along with strong negotiating skills, be a self- starter capable of working independently, as well as part of a team. Must take pride in results and accountability for performance
