Description SUMMARY:

This individual assists in the administration of various employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, vision, disability and pension plans. They provide support other functional areas of the human resources department, which may include HRIS administration, report writing, recruitment and payroll.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Enrolls new employees in benefit plans
 Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package
 Distributes materials for orientations and open enrollment
 Responsible for the maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records
 Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations
 Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life and pension claims
 Assists in the management of the benefit plan renewal process
 Assists in preparing materials and in presenting benefit plan changes to employees.
 Issues annual individual summary of benefits to employees
 Gather employee data and process the monthly billing and the preparation of vouchers for payment for all group plans in a timely manner
 Distribute SPD’s annually
 Maintains proper system security through user access as needed
 Maintains systems to ensure efficient operations, processing, and report generation
 Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools that will allow consistent reporting and will assist in strategic planning. Development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
 Performs periodic audits to ensure data integrity
 Provides support for HRMS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements as needed
 Maintains HRMS system tables
 Trains new system users
 Responsible for ensuring that the SSAE16 requirements for the HRIS system are current
 All other duties as assigned

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

• Accurate and timely benefit enrollment; 99% error free.
• Improve employee’s understanding of all benefit plans through implemented programs.
• Timely and accurate submission of all invoices and export files; 99% error free.
• Maintain legal compliance regarding benefit administration including timely delivery of all Summary Plan Descriptions.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 Associates degree and three to five years related employee benefit and HRIS administration experience is required
 Excellent communication and organization skills are required
 Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
 Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals (RFP’s)
 Excellent problem solving skills
 Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required. Knowledge of UltiPro HRIS preferred
 Knowledge of benefit contract language
 Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements
 PHR designation preferred

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
