Title Corporate Learning Moderator
City Remote
Description The Moderator is a core member of the Harvard Business Publishing client delivery team who leads and facilitates blended learning programs. Moderators work in collaboration with HBP staff and work directly with learners of our three primary programs: Leadership Direct™, Breakthrough Leadership, and Harvard Manage Mentor™. Learners can be emerging leaders, mid‐level managers, or senior leaders within corporations. Moderators facilitate discussion of case studies and lead application exercises via videoconference, webinar or online discussion boards, debrief simulations, and lead some train‐the‐trainer sessions. In addition, Moderators may lead client calls, participate in orientations, write summaries, conduct needs assessments, or create written materials.

This position is ideal for an experienced educator who has deep expertise in management and leadership topics, is well versed in the Harvard Business School case study method and is a natural facilitator and educator. The successful Moderator loves being in front of a group virtually, and facilitating discussions about the practice of management.

This is a contract position where hours are variable depending on volume and scheduling of client programs. This role is best suited to someone who has flexibility during and after working hours over several months as our programs last from 4‐7 months.

All moderator candidates are screened by the Corporate Learning Resource Network (CLRN) and participate in an audition process. The audition consists of the moderator candidate leading a brief case discussion with an internal Harvard Business Publishing team.
Requirements • BA/BS required
• M.B.A. or equivalent preferred
• 5‐10 years of experience as a facilitator or educator within the management or leadership disciplines
• Experience in Business School case study method
• Broad knowledge of Leadership Development methods and practices
• Familiarity with web‐based Collaboration tools like WebEx is helpful
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines using available resources
• Demonstrates responsibility and constructive action in a self‐directed manner
• Maintains a professional telecommuting work environment including high‐speed broadband internet connection and appropriate atmosphere to work remotely and communicate with clients and co‐workers
