Description We are seeking a full-time Staff Scientist in our Sacramento, CA office to assist a multidisciplinary team of accomplished environmental scientists, including engineers, biologists, ecologists, and planners on a variety of projects in California and the western United States.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

> Assist lead biologists and scientists in conducting a variety of field surveys, including plant surveys, aquatic
surveys, water quality monitoring, and wildlife surveys.
> Collect and record data accurately.
> Assist with data entry and preparing report tables and figures.
> Perform preconstruction resource surveys and construction monitoring activities to ensure consistency with permit requirements.


Requirements Basic Qualification:

> Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, natural resource management, planning or related field
< 3 to 5 years of applicable professional experience or similar graduate school experience
> Coursework in environmental sciences, wildlife biology, aquatic biology, general biology, environmental field methods, or similar
> Must be physically fit and able to navigate in high-elevation and rugged field conditions on foot
> Must be able to work in the Central and/or Northern California area
> Self-motivated with strong initiative
> Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship

Desired Qualifications:

> Aquatic and fisheries field experience
> Terrestrial biological and/or recreation survey experience
> Water quality sampling experience
> Knowledge of, and experience with, California flora and wildlife/avian species and habitats
> Plant identification skills (California preferred)
> Technical writing and spreadsheet experience
> Geographic Positioning System (GPS) handheld device experience helpful (but not required)
> General knowledge of various environmental permitting processes.
> Positive, flexible, and team-oriented.
> Detail oriented and resourceful.
> Positive and energetic attitude.
