KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
· Currently enrolled in College (minimum of 48 units) or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in School Counseling preferred but not required.
· A minimum of three year’s work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or non-profit agency planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of children and teens. (Preferred)
· Strong interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to community and members from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
· Knowledge of California high school graduation requirements, A-G requirements and other college/vocational school entry requirements.
· Ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive data and information.
· Ability to work independently and in an undefined environment.
· Ability to motivate, organize and supervise youth in a safe environment and manage behavior problems. Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
· Strong interest in education and impacting member learning in a positive manner.
· Excellent planning and organizational skills.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
· Proficiency in office-based computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher).
