JOB SUMMARY

The Director-Program Planning and Outcomes will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the data collection, monitoring and evaluation of results reported by the Branch and School Sites within the organization. The Director will develop educational/ informational materials and strategies to communicate those results as they are related to the organization’s priority outcomes for Academic success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship Programs. Additionally the Director will help to inform the organization on the development of strategies that increase Club and staff capacity to effectively implement and execute outcome evaluation processes & techniques. This position will also be responsible to ensure successful programs are implemented as scheduled, use approved curriculum, and make recommendations on program changes based on the success of the programs. Tracking of successful outcomes and reporting is also required in this position.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership

·         Establishes and maintains objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission that ensure the health and safety of members.

·         Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.

·         Ensures that the members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).

·         Oversee provisions of guidance services to members to assist them in fulfilling and making appropriate choices in educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, vocational and spiritual needs.

·         Demonstrates leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.

 

Technology

·         Ensure the plans for technology, information management systems, and updating staff skills are implemented.

 

Strategic Planning

·         Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensures programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.

 

Program and Service Management

·         Ensure program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

 

Resource Management

·         Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Club’s annual budget, ensuring that club-wide programs and activities are operated within established budgetary guidelines.

·         Recruit, select and manage assigned staff and volunteers, ensuring productive and effective performance. Provide ongoing feedback and regular appraisal; identify and support professional development opportunities.

·         Oversees proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues.

 

Partnership Development

·         Develop collaborative partnerships.

 

Marketing and Public Relations

·         Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers and media releases.

 

Program Outcome and Evaluation

·         Develop criteria and processes for outcome evaluation and reporting for all funded programs and formal partnerships.

·         Work with Outcome Measurement Advisory group to develop evaluation policy recommendations and to research and communicate outcome measurement best practices.

·         Develop training strategies and materials for club staff, volunteers and community partners in outcome evaluation techniques and methods.

·         Facilitate Club and Agency level internal and external assessment functions including developing data linkages between tools to ease process time for staff.

·         Direct and Facilitate training on the overall quality improvement process as well as ensure proper training for evaluation tools.

·         Manage and analyze quality data for determination and recommendation of appropriate responses.

·         Conduct correlation analysis between output, quality, and outcome data to evaluate agency performance against strategic goals. Provide analysis and consult on data management protocols and systems.

·         Manage grant-making processes aimed at building the capacity of community partners to implement program-level, outcome measurement and evaluation systems.

·         Create regional and local reports for use in increasing community education and public awareness related to the community level impact achieved by Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington, TX.

·         Maintain presence in youth development and after-school programming field to continually monitor external assessment trends. Advise and recommend action in relation to quality improvement processes to ensure BGC of Arlington is a leader in specific, measurable, quality youth programming.

·         All other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Accountabilities and Skills

·         May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary.

·         Supervision and coordination of staff and volunteers during special Club events.

·         Will be required to drive Club vehicles and obtain a CDL License/Air Brake Certified to assist in transportation of youth.

·         May consult with parents concerning member and branch issues.

·         Coordinate volunteer program for the organization.

·         Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.

·         Assume other duties as assigned.

·         Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.

·         Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.

·         Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; and/or of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations;

·         Community relations

·         Principals of youth development

·         Resource management

·         Knowledge of information and management systems

·         Program planning, development, implementation and evaluation

·         Developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and public relations

·         Business communications

·         A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Social Sciences or Related Field and Knowledge in Statistics required) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience is required. A Master’s Degree is encouraged

·         A Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar experience in organizational planning and supervision of activities based on the developmental needs of youth. Must have considerable knowledge of the policies, programs and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs, or of the principles and practices of similar non-profit organizations.

·         Demonstrated experience in developing and applying evaluation process tools, data collection and analysis.

·         Strong writing and public speaking skills, strong interpersonal skills working with groups and individuals.

·         Ability to train large diverse groups.

·         Strong organizational skills. Information management skills in MS Office Programs and other Window’s based database structures (preferably w/statistical databases) demonstrated success in using statistical modeling to analyze and interpret data as well as experience using statistical program software.

Environment & Working Conditions

Normal internal office environment, as well as the required travel to Branch and School Site locations within the Boys & Girls Clubs. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.
