JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of Resource Development reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for building the strategy and managing the performance of the resource development and marketing efforts of the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision and Leadership

  • Build the strategy and structure and manage the functioning of the resource development and marketing efforts, working closely with organizational staff and board leadership.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, present plans to the Board and Board Resource Development Committee.
  • Provide leadership to Resource Development and Marketing Team, which currently includes:  Development Coordinator, Events Coordinator, Director of Resources, and Marketing Director.
  • Provide hands on guidance and oversight of Board fundraising strategies.

 

Direct Fundraising and Marketing Performance

  • Directly manage a portfolio of major gift investors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Actively engage in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of funding sources, particularly individual and corporate donors
  • Plan for and execute a planned giving program and assist in the growth of the endowment fund.
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing, branding and development strategies that will ensure consistency throughout the organization, increase awareness among target audiences, and increase revenues from all sources
  • Articulate Boys & Girl Clubs of Collier County’s vision and impact to the community fostering public trust and investments.

 

Resource Development Management & Administration

  • Provide oversight to all fundraising and departmental activity.
  • Provide oversight to data entry, reporting, and prospect research/rating as needed; complete data entry as required for constituent updates.
  • Provide oversight to grant research and writing as needed, including review and editing.
  • Provide oversight to organizational special events, including logistics as needed.
  • Any and all other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of front-line fundraising experience, including working to engage Board of Directors in fundraising
  • Work experience in the Boys and Girls Clubs Movement (national or local Club) is an advantage
  • Computer Proficiency required Skill Sets
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear priorities, create stakeholder buy in, delegate, drive progress and monitor performance
  • Strong analytical skills, judgment, interpretation, negotiation and problem solving skills that support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, building rapport and trust quickly
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills with demonstrated success informing, listening, writing and presenting
  • Strong commitment to the professional development and mentoring of staff; successful track record of recruitment and retention of a dynamic staff team and effective team building; supporting a safe work environment

 

Environmental and Working Conditions

  • All work is conducted in a Club setting, indoors and outside. 10-15% travel is required.
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation, liability insurance and possess a valid FL Driver’s license for the operation of a motor vehicle relevant to the performance of duties and be able to navigate using a map or other direction methods.
