JOB SUMMARY

                                    Director of Education & STEM Specialist

The Director of Education & STEM Programs reports to the Vice President of Club Services. The purpose of his/her position is to interpret, plan and carry out all aspects of programming, and services involving all Union League Boys & Girls Clubs sites. The Director of Education & STEM Programs provides leadership for the effective development, planning and implementation of all Educational and STEM related programs, activities and special events. He/she keeps records and coordinates program implementation. He/she files, maintains schedules, and oversees the implementation and effective achievement of deliverables of grant supported programs and the timely submission of reports.

 

Key Roles

  • Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Club Services, and in coordination with the Manager of Donor and Alumni Relations the Director of Education & STEM Programs is responsible for providing leadership, support, and professional guidance and resources for all Club educational program areas and to facilitate an environment conducive for program excellence, professional growth of staff, and club members. This position includes assessing, evaluating, training, planning, filing, record keeping, reporting, scheduling and assisting program coordinators at all ULBGC sites as needed. The Director of Education & STEM Programs is part of the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs’ Vision 20/20 Strategy Implementation Team.

 

General

  • Under the guidance and supervision of the Vice President of Club Services, the Director of Education & STEM Programs supervises all aspects of the effective planning and implementation of all ULBGC Educational Programs including 21st Century sites.
  • Provides support to the Clubs’ Program Teams as needed.
  • Develop objectives consistent with the Clubs’ program goals and mission.
  • Reviews, files, reports and maintains all program and logistical records.
  • Oversees program staff and volunteer orientations and trainings.
  • Supports and promotes program needs of Vision 20/20 Strategy.

 

Program implementation

  • In coordination the Manager of Donor and Alumni Relations and program coordinators at all club sites, he/she develops program strategies and logistics, and supervises program deliverables while providing leadership in planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of all programs, activities and special events at all ULBGC sites, including but not limited to the following programs:
  • Implementation of SMART Programs
  • Leadership Development
  • Educational Programs
  • Summer Day Camps
  • Cadets Program
  • Other programs as indicated by the Program Team and organizational goals.
  • Maintain yearly files, information, literature and meeting minutes of all programs, activities and special events.

 

Vision20/20

  • Quarterly review Vision 20/20 Strategies and adjust planning and implementation as needed.
  • Support the Program Team in the effective planning and implementation of all yearly Vision 20/20 strategies and activities
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Vice President of Club Services.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensures coordinators have tools or training needed to complete tasks
  • Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned staff and Volunteers
  • Responsible for collecting outcome measurements such as pre and post-test assessments for grant deliverables and BGCA
  • Ensures programs are evaluated for outcomes, effectiveness, and level of participation
  • Supervise the creation of program schedules and rotation three times a year (two school semesters and summer)
