JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the total operation of a single unit facility inclusive of programming, a retail store, membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

·         Coordinates the development of the board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program).

·         Directs the financial development activities of the unit

·         Represents and promotes the Boys & Girls Club in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and government entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.

·         Oversees the hiring, training and supervision of staff

·         Oversee appropriate child to staff ratios where appropriate and hours of operation at both the main club and resale store

·         Develops, manages, and monitors the operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets

·         Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the club

·         Works with local/regional/national funding foundations in preparing and submitting appropriate grand funding applications

·         Maintains and expands local and area individual and corporate donor base through advocacy and public speaking opportunities throughout the year

·         Develop, maintain and update social media outlets (webpage, Facebook etc.)

·         Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, equipment and vehicles

·         Directs marketing and communication efforts

·         Active attendance at BGCA meetings, trainings, conferences and seminars with board approval

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, physical education, recreational sports, business or equivalent experiences

·         Four or more years of management experience, preferably in a Boys & Girls Club or other not-for-profit agency

·         Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budget, marketing and public relations and program development

·         Experience in management and development of volunteers, ability to recruit top community leaders

·         Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations

·         Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations

·         CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required

 

Effect on End Results: This position has a direct impact on the overall effectiveness with which the club accomplishes its objectives for the membership and community. The incumbent has a primary impact on the community's understanding of the Boys & Girls Club mission in action. Sound administration of purposeful and coordinated programs, good public relations and financial accountability for his/her budget and proper supervision of assigned physical property and management. The interpretation of the Boys & Girls Club to the community, the continued promotion and evaluation of programs for the membership and community as a whole, and for the quality and growth of the club in terms of the membership served. The development and maintenance of positive staff relations with co-workers or with collaborative group efforts. The exercise of good judgment and competence in implemented stated needs objectives and interests of the Burkburnett Boys & Girls Club as outline by the board and within the incumbents' defined responsibilities.
