JOB SUMMARY

  • Establishes a program setting that insures the health and safety of members
  • Contributes to the creation of the Club’s overall Climate for youth development
  • Assesses the needs, interests, and characteristics of members to develop targeted programs
  • Plans programs and activities consistent with the organizations youth development mission
  • Personally involved in implementing and carrying out daily programs and activities in all core program areas
  • Provide mentorship for members through both accident and behavior reports and ensures they are recorded appropriately
  • Manages administrative functions
  • Manage program area budget including distribution reconciliation of petty cash and membership service transactions
  • Ensure Volunteers, junior staff and part time staff are trained and contribute to the overall mission in an enthusiastic manner
  • Create and implement a written schedule for facilities and staff
  • Keep building and equipment up to date, up-keep of facilities
  • Overall up keep and data collection on member tracking system, including unpaid balances, member duplicates, account information etc.
  • Attend administrative meetings and community wide meetings
  • Promotes and markets programs to parents, members and community
  • Establishes partnerships with schools and other community resources
  • Manage and lead part time staff members
  • Ensure that national and local programs are ran in each core program area
  • Ensure that staff work with members appropriately, always demonstrating leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of all members
  • Ensure that positive and respectful relationships exist between staff members
  • Track employee hours and produce time sheets
  • Develop a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation and provide leadership and coaching to staff members
  • Establish strong positive working relationships with parents and families
  • Assisting with the coordination and implementation of special events
  • Responsible for oversight, tracking and implementation of grants and reporting to appropriate leadership
  • Responsible for hiring new part time staff and following hiring procedures

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check
  • First aid/ CPR certification
  • Ability to manage 10-15 staff members as well as 100-150 members each day
  • Works well in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to think quickly, and adapt to change
  • Innovative and outside of the box thinker
  • Self-management and strong time management skills
  • Previous experience working with at risk youth or low income families is preferred as is background in education or social work
  • At least one year supervisory or leadership experience
  • The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Physically demanding activities may be required
  • Ability to handle conflict and remain calm in high stress situations
