JOB SUMMARY

Program Development and Delivery

• Assists in the overall effective management and coordination of the readiness day-to-day educational program.
• Support the activities of program planning, implementation, and ongoing need assessments.
• Assists in the development of the curriculum, instruction and technology for students ages 3 to 5.
• Supports in the development of communication between the school and parents and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Plans, arranges and maintains a safe, clean and healthy environment that is conducive to quality care for teaching and learning.
• Observes, documents, assesses and reports the progress of children in meeting the performance standards of the Connecticut Preschool Curriculum Framework and the Connecticut Common Core of State Standards.
• Keeps accurate documentation of behavior, development, progress, health, illness, injuries or evidence of child abuse or neglect and make related reports within 12 hours or sooner to Director, DCF, Head Teacher and Public Health Department (PHD).
• Ability to adhere to a designated work schedule and classroom assignments that complies with expectations for punctuality, preparedness, and being on the job on a day-to-day basis.
• Ability to write detailed lesson plans a week in advance.
• Must participate in professional development and staff meetings.
• Perform other related duties as requested by their supervisors.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or Childhood Development.
• 1-3 years of documented, supervised experience teaching in an early childhood education program at a school or center.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a diverse community.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude
• Ability to acquire approval and certification from DCF and CT-Chart-A-Course.
• Provide TB test results within 15 days of job offer.
• College transcript(s), references (3) and evaluations must be submitted during interview process. Failure to do so will disqualify the candidate.
