JOB SUMMARY

Directs/manages overall daily operation of the designated Club site with primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, reporting issues with facilities, community relations and membership administration, resource development stewardship and volunteer/mentor management and stewardship.

 

Key Roles

·         Establish Unit programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success. Program curriculum must follow Outcomes Measurement Indicators & programing goals.

·         Create a Club environment that facilitates the five key elements for youth development.

·         Assist in development of Outcome Measurements and Indicators for Club programming.

·         Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.

·         Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Unit programs, service and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.

·         Monthly reports must reflect all activities, attendance and participation, review weekly program assistant reports, to be included in weekly report to supervisor.

·         Plan and implement member retention and recruitment activities.

·         Manage grant requirements & member participation to satisfy grant requirements.

·         Research and develop curriculum with pre- and post- outcome assessments for Club programs that encourage member interest & participation that met Outcome Indicators.

·         Collect, analyze and report on Outcome Indicators to ensure Outcome Measurements are met.

·         Manage Unit financial resources assisting in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget.

·         Learn & utilize BGCA programming.

·         Responsible for Club site remaining clean, neat, organized and in good repair. Report to Area Director of Club Operations facility repairs when needed.

·         Maintain an up-to-date inventory of Club equipment quarterly.

·         Maintain accurate records of volunteers and supplies monthly.

·         Submit all reports on a timely basis using correct and complete data.

·         Maintain accurate record of staff payroll timesheets. Ensuring all documents are signed and accurate.

·         Identify career development opportunities for staff. Conduct regular part-time staff meetings.

·         Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.

·         Manage staff program delivery.

·         Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.

·         Review and respond to emails, voicemail and other forms of communication within twenty-four (24) hours.

·         Communicate any potential issue or concern regularly with supervisor or administrative staff regarding personnel, parent, peer, partners or Club members.

·         Implement strategic goals of the organization.

·         Work with Area Director of Athletics to insure communication and coordination of all athletics programming at your site.

·         Complete daily deposits

·         Submit requisitions for purchases of supplies and equipment.

·         Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments

·         Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.

·         Grant writing as needed

·         Assume other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Minimum 2 year degree required, Four year degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

·         A minimum 1 - 3 years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.

·         Ability to work extended hours and weekends, when needed.

·         Demonstrate knowledge in database system management and reporting.

·         Demonstrate ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and retention of key personnel.

·         Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Ability to train, supervise and motivate staff.

·         Ability to deal effectively with members and families, including discipline problems.

·         Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management.

·         Skills in planning and implementing fund-raising events and volunteer management.

·         Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.

·         Maintain partner certifications and trainings, when necessary, i.e. CPR, Food handling.

·         Ability to travel within Alachua County region daily.

·         Basic computer expertise.

·         Keep current with Youth Development trends and technologies.

·         Attend BGCA trainings & Leadership University for ongoing education

·         Ability to climb stairs

·         Able to lift items

·         Mobility to perform active programming needs.

·         Ability to perform any other position duties throughout the site.
