JOB SUMMARY

The Branch Director is directly accountable to the CEO/Director of Branch Operations. The Branch Director is appointed by the Director of Branch Operations and is responsible to him/her directly. He/she is accountable for all matters relative to the successful operation of the Branch within the Operating Policies and Procedures of the Clubs.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Budget planning, fund raising and fiscal management of the Branch.

·         Program planning.

·         Recruiting, recommending employment, supervising and training the Branch staff and volunteers in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines.

·         Holding regular Branch staff meetings; directing and guiding the work of the Branch staff.

·         Purchasing supplies and equipment for the Branch in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines, and operating the Branch within the approved budget.

·         Supervising the maintenance and operation of the physical property of the Branch.

·         Maintaining and operating the Branch in accordance with the standards and policies of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio.

·         Promoting and stimulating membership in the Branch.

·         Evaluating the departments and programs of the Branch.

·         Making monthly statistical and progress reports regarding the Branch to the Outcomes and Compliance Coordinator, and the Director of Branch Operations.

·         Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with public and private agencies and other organizations in the area served by the Branch.

·         Completes other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Education or Social Sciences plus four years work experience in a youth development setting of which two years must be in a management or supervisory position; or

·         Six years’ experience in youth development program of which four years must be in a management or supervisory position.

·         Must possess good character, maturity, self-control, and sound judgment.

·         Must have a sincere interest in helping children.

·         Must have a realistic understanding of community life and the social forces that influence and affect boys and girls, particularly those from less privileged areas.

·         Must possess the energy, initiative and ability to achieve results within time frames.

·         Must possess a capacity for loyalty and support of the organization's missions and goals, and the policies of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio.

·         Must have a Class C Motor Vehicle License or equivalent, an acceptable driving record, and a willingness to acquire a Class B Motor Vehicle License.

·         The ability and skills necessary to conceptualize and translate ideas into results.

·         Organizational and planning skills.

·         Must possess a basic understanding of accounting.

·         Must possess a basic understanding of fund-raising.

·         Must possess basic record keeping skills.

·         Must possess ability to control property.

·         Must possess skills in generating voluntary resources.

·         Must possess skills for communicating clearly and knowledgeably.

·         Must possess the ability and aptitude to make decisions and meet commitments within established policies and time frames.

·         Must possess ability to function objectively and fairly.

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Must be able to safely lift 40 lbs. Must be able to work in an office atmosphere as well as all areas of branch facility, and outdoor environments.
