JOB SUMMARY

Communicates the philosophy, objectives, standards, and programs of the Brigade Boys & Girls Club, through all methods available, to staff, club members, parents, donors, and the general public.

 

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Provide leadership and direction to Club Directors in the management of their designated sites.
  • Ensure an environment that facilitates the achievement of the Formula for Impact.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness and attractiveness of properties and equipment.
  • Works with the Development and Communications Department to ensure adequate resources available for optimal club operations.

 

Leadership

  • Oversee the achievement of operational goals in relation to need and available resources, to ensure the achievement of the Organization’s Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Provide a “Voice from the Clubs” regarding strategic implementation, resources needed, and ideas for quality improvement opportunities.
  • Accountable for adherence to policies and procedures, professional ethics, and rules of conduct in the Clubs.

 

Community Partnerships and Visibility

  • Maintain a high level of community visibility in order to build relationships and make connections that support the overall organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with key schools, community organizations, churches and other entities that can help lead youth to the Clubs.
  • Maintain presence with BGCA community through varied opportunities of participation.

 

Health and Safety

  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment on all Club properties.
  • Ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained in every area of the Club.
  • Regularly communicate and document any health or safety concerns to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers and media releases.
  • Develop and maintain public relations with schools, businesses, non-profits, civic groups, and community partners including taking time to serve on community task groups and service groups.
  • Participate in community educational events, information fairs, and United Way presentations.

 

Partnership Development

  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with parents, schools, community leaders and organizations.
  • Develop relationships with elected officials to discuss the needs of the community’s youth.
  • Develop new relationships with local businesses to generate an increase in funds and in-kind donations.
  • Invite potential and established corporate and individual donors to visit the Club for tours.
  • Support board committees, as assigned.

 

Resource Development

  • Complete understanding and support of Brigade Boys & Girls Club’s Strategic Plan, and development and execution of annual resource development and communications plan.
  • Work with board and staff to implement the annual golf tournament.
  • Participate in activities to maintain public trust in Club programs, services and activities.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in Youth Environment
  • Able to pass background checks
  • Able to complete tasks as listed in Key Roles above.
