JOB SUMMARY

The Unit Director is responsible for implementing the 5 key elements of positive youth development: fun, safety, recognition, opportunities & expectations and supportive relationships in their daily interactions with youth, their staffs’ daily interactions with youth as well as their staff’s hourly program plans and impact programs. The Unit Director is expected to uphold the Club values inside and outside of the Club as well as hold all Brookings Unit staff accountable for upholding the Club values. The Club values include teamwork, impact driven, excellence & good character.

Key Responsibilities

• Attending 100% of monthly all staff meetings, weekly one on one meeting with supervisory and weekly Coordinator meetings.
• Responsible for holding biweekly team and individual one on one meetings with all direct report staff and ensuring that all Brookings Unit staff are receiving a weekly or biweekly one on one meeting and that weekly meeting forms are being utilized.
• Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating all direct report staff by the creation and implementation of 60 day reviews, performance plans and quarterly reviews.
• Responsible for pulling monthly programming reports.
• Responsible for assisting with all special events at the Club.
• Responsible for budget tracking in all priority outcomes.
• Be informed and get involved in all major discipline and guidance challenges that arise at the Club
• Build relationships with parents of the organization through parent orientation, phone calls, e-mails, daily communication, etc.
• Complete the annual Boys & Girls Club of America Impact Assessment.
• Provide grant administration by ensuring all grant programs are meeting grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy of tracking of all duplicated and unduplicated youth participation in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles for the Brookings Unit.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working with youth of ages Preschool through 12th grade
• Management experience preferred
