 JOB SUMMARY

Plans, implements and evaluates all programs and activities for the Sports, Fitness & Recreation Department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the Fitness program and all the components as designed including the BGCA Triple Play Program and other opportunities as identified.
  • Develop and supervise the teen center program and assigned staff
  • Oversee the Kids Café program
  • Implementation of the Smart Moves program
  • Implementation and supervision of the Intramural and Extramural sports programs
  • Together, with the Technology Coordinator, coordinate the Power Hour program with the Sports Program as designed.
  • Ensure quality improvement and evaluating program and members’ achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to members’ needs and interests.
  • Manage facilities and ensure a safe and productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program areas.
  • Ensure that all club policies for youth participation regarding membership, technology, football insurance, payment of fees, and all others as identifies are strictly implemented.
  • Marketing the programs to ensure maximum recruitment and participation
  • Participate in the delivery of all club-wide programs, special events, youth of the year, junior staff and any others as assigned.
  • Case manage a select and assigned number of participants in the Gang Prevention through Targeted Outreach Approach
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate program volunteers for the sports fitness and recreation program.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Art/Science degree in a related field required
  • Drivers’ License required
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
  • Ability to deal with the general public
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
