JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall planning and operation of The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club programs in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization; provides leadership, direction and support to corps officers and club directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating resources, and establishing policies; additionally, oversees overall operations of the Boys & Girls Club with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration. (Geographical Area of Texas: Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreation program development.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of facility management.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of volunteer recruitment.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of community relations, development and fundraising.
• Ability to supervise, lead motivate and influence the staff and patrons of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Ability to develop and implement promotional and fundraising activities to enhance the outreach and financial efforts of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Ability to enforce the Boys & Girls Club rules and to resolve conflicts among patrons visiting the Club in order to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Education, or related field, with a Master’s degree in the same preferred area. And four years’ progressively responsible experience in a non-profit agency (YMCA, United Way, etc.), recreational and/or Boys and Girls Club which includes management and supervision, with at least two years in a leadership capacity, or an equivalent combination of experience.
• Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
