JOB SUMMARY

A vice president of operations oversees day-to-day operations to support the growth of the organization. The focus is on strategic planning and goal-setting and directing the operations of the company in support of its goals and mission. The VP primary responsibilities are Program Development, Staff Management, Facilities Management, Budget, Capacity Building, Community Collaborations and Training/Professional Development.

 

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)

·        Manage the implementation and delivery of special initiatives of operations, programs, services and activities that facilitate achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.

·        Oversee the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve program effectiveness on the basis of participation and achievement of stated goals; recommends modifications to improve program performance, as appropriate with Director of Program Services.

·        Manage assigned “special” National program initiatives and events.

·        Implement and manage all BGCH Outreach Initiatives (i.e. CJTS, Community Schools, Early Learning Childhood Center, School Sites, etc.)

·        Manage the contracts for all maintenance, equipment, and facilities.

·        Ensure compliance with insurance requirements.

·        Oversee productive and effective staff performance, providing guidance, feedback and opportunities for professional development.

·        Plan staff development and training programs.

·        Develop community partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders and community organizations.

·        Employee liaison for assigned Task Forces and Committees.

·        Support Board Committees as assigned (i.e. Facility, Program and Personnel).

·        Increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities and maintain good public relations along with Development Department and larger community.

·        Assist with Grant Management application process as needed

·        Complete all organization wide reporting as assigned

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·        Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

·        Master’s degree preferred

·        A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in demonstrating ability to manage effective programs or operations.

·        Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making and cross-functional partnerships.

·        Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

·        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors and Community Partners.

·        Demonstrate success of effectively leading change and organizational growth through strategic planning.

·        Demonstrate financial management and budgeting skills.

·        Make sound business decision based on data and statistics.

·        Utilize the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization.
