JOB SUMMARY

Key resource responsible for the day to day accounting and finance functions of the Company, including the preparation of monthly financials statements. Individual will also work with the CEO and Unit Directors in coordinating and developing the annual operating budgets as well as assist in the preparation of the strategic business plan. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development of presentations to the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors and external entities.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Monthly

·         Properly record and account for all business transactions for all clubs as well as corporate services.

·         Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

·         Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.

·         Preparation of financial statements to include the Statement of Income and the Balance Sheet for all entities.

·         Manage accounts receivables, pledge receivables and accounts payable.

·         Compare actual operating results to budget and explain variances.

·         Work with the CEO in developing a month end financial results package.

·         Serve as the staff liaison to the board’s finance committee and the corporate treasurer.

·         Support the development of monthly Board of Directors reporting requirements.

·         Complete bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintain credit card statements, process bank deposits, reconciling accounts, preparing accounting reports on QuickBooks, and help with audit & tax preparation.

·         Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support Board of Directors, Club, OJP, DHS and CEO reporting requirements.

·         Oversee the preparation, accuracy and distribution of payroll and ensure that all payroll taxes are paid timely and that all payroll tax returns are filed in accordance with state and federal requirements.

 

Annually

·         Assist in the development and preparation of the Organization’s Strategic Plan.

·         Assist in the development and creation of the annual operating budgets.

·         Assist external auditors with annual audit requirements.

·         Work with team members, including Unit Directors, in streamlining the collection and recording of data.

·         Enhance reporting accuracy and improve turnaround timeframes.

·         Support Clubs as needed on special projects.

·         Assist CEO when and as needed on certain projects.

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Strong administrative skills, including typing, filing, technology, and planning execution of multiple projects.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and 3-5 years of experience in related field.

·         Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and QuickBooks.

·         Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.

·         Ability to get along with diverse personalities while at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for four plus hours per day, and ability to visit club locations.

·         Skills essential for success include speaking, writing and use of computer and related software.

·         Maintains internal contact with the CEO, Chairman of Board of Directors, Corporate Treasurer and staff to obtain and exchange information and coordinate activities and develop strategic initiatives.

·         Maintains contact with external community organizations, individuals and board members where needed.

·         Occasional weekend and evening work to support organization’s fundraising events, committee meetings and activities.
