JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction in overseeing strategic planning and operation of the organization in support of organizational mission and goals. The Executive Director provides leadership, direction and support to the board of directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating and managing resources, and establishing policies; provides leadership and direction to staff management and partnership development in carrying out key roles.

  • Ensure Productive and Effective Staff Performance

 

Technology

  • Ensure Technology, Information Management Systems and Staff Skills are current

 

Partnership Development

  • Develop Strategic Alliances and Collaborative Partnerships

 

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Develop and Maintain Public Relations

 

Additional Accountabilities

  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision to several full-time professionals located at several sites.

 

Relationships

Internal: Maintain contact with the board of directors, Club staff, volunteers and Club members.

External: Maintain contact with potential and current donors, external community groups, parents, school officials and others as required.

 

Environmental and Working Conditions

  • The majority of the work time is conducted in an office setting. Some travel is required.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Maintain a high energy level.
  • Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Regularly speak clearly and hear the spoken word as well.
  • Regularly travel to Club sites in the organization using public transportation and/or personally driving a motor vehicle.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to leadership development, strategic planning, board development, resource development, resource management and partnership development.
  • Master Degree preferred; four-year college degree from an accredited college in the area of nonprofit business/human resources/management and/or other related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred in the management, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club (or similar organization), including board development; demonstrated ability to fundraise, manage people, budgets and control expenses.
