JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for overall management of Club operations, ensuring that programs and services directly benefit young members. The Executive Director (ED) provides strategic leadership and direction to fulfill the Boys & Girls Club’s mission, improve and expand programs, and assure the organization's financial viability and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the total operation of a single unit facility inclusive of programming, membership, marketing, programs, facilities/vehicles, volunteer and staff development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.
  • Supervision of 4 Directors and various part-time staffing Annual budget of $350,000.
  • Active BGCA programming and transportation from 3 elementary/1 middle school during school year.  Full day summer day camp.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

As the Executive Director of a 1,000 member club with an Average Daily Attendance of 180, in a community of 11,000, the ED is the key player in the success of our organization.  A good candidate will have experience in Resource Management and Development, Leadership and Board Development.

 

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in nonprofit role
  • Leadership skills, including problem-solving, negotiation, strategic planning, and collaboration
  • Ability to establish & maintain strong working relationships with the Board, staff, donors and community partners
  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups & individuals
  • Strong grant writing and reporting skills
  • No relocation assistance provided
