Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is in the midst of an unprecedented transformation requiring an entrepreneurial and strategically oriented leader to serve as SE Director, Youth Development and Outcomes (Training & Professional Development). Reporting to the National Director, Youth Development and Outcomes, the Director will lead and coordinate the development of a regional calendar of learning events to support the growth and development of Club Professionals support the growth and development of Club Professionals.


Physically located in Atlanta, Ga., the SE Director, Youth Development and Outcomes (Training & Professional Development) must be creative and relentlessly focused on how to manage the training and professional development needs that define the BGCA federated model of impact.

The Director contributes to positive youth development, empowerment and drives youth outcomes across the spectrums of academic achievement, good character & citizenship, and health and wellness. This position maintains specific focus on needs of youth development and management professionals by overseeing special event activation, insuring fidelity of implementation, impact and quality, creating new strategies, troubleshooting and providing overall support and technical assistance.


Working in small flexible teams, the Director will deliver on innovative thinking and business-changing recommendations that will inform the core of our youth development and social impact work. The Director must be able to build and manage powerful relationships to represent the interests of the Program, Training & Youth Development Services (PTYDS) department, partnering with Resource Development, Marketing & Communications, Organizational & Executive Development Services, Planning & Measurement, Government Relations, corporate partners and others.


This person must have a strong consultation, organization development, and event management expertise. He/she must also have demonstrable proficiencies in youth development, youth and teen curriculum design, teen outreach, youth and adolescent research and specialized teen populations (i.e. urban youth). This person must also have a working knowledge and be comfortable contributing to the analysis and translation of outcome measures and research findings to help drive program outcomes, organizational learning and impact.


A primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to strategies and deliver tactics to help transform Boys & Girls Club facilities into Centers of Excellence, filled with a mix of innovative programs and services that meet their needs and interests. The Director is a driver of impact, strengthening Clubs’ understanding of leadership and character development and presenting them with the tools and resources needed to provide world-class services aligned around three priority outcome areas (Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles).


The ideal candidate possesses a high level of expertise in the areas of 21st Century Skills, Growth Mindset, Connected Learning and Personal Branding. He/she must have an extensive background in youth development, digital engagement, urban and youth culture, contemporary and ethical leadership skills development and program and curriculum design and development.

The Director must begin work with a high level of appreciation for the mission of the Boys & Girls Club Movement and an ability to quickly understand the literature relevant to our three priority outcome areas (Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles). The Director will be responsible for supporting positive outcomes for Club youth in all three areas.


The candidate must have an understanding of various topics, including but not limited to: 21st Century Leadership Skill Development, Digital Literacy, On-Time High School Graduation, STEM, Creativity and Innovation, Summer Learning Loss Prevention, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, Federal Evidence-Based Certification Processes, and more.

Requirements Education
• Bachelor’s degree in youth development, leadership, events/project management, business administration, program and curriculum development, strategic implementation, strategic management, urban studies or a related discipline is required.Education

Experience
• Minimum five years demonstrated successful youth development, program management and training experience.
• Demonstrated track record of successful program development and implementation.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.


Travel estimated at approximately 70% (10 to 15 days or more in a month – including weekends - depending upon scheduling requirements).
